Timeless is the word that comes to mind when I think of
Nicole and John. They both have this
ageless quality to them – almost like they stepped into the modern world from
another time. I really like that about
them. Effortless in their smiles, they
seem to meld into one another until the rest of the world simply fades
away. This was going to be a day for
epic images, so long as the weather held off.
As seems to be the case, rain was in the forecast for the
day. Even as far out as the extended
10-day forecast, rain showers loomed. It
looked as though rain was almost a guarantee.
About a week before their wedding, we met to catch up over coffee and go
over any last minute details. The big
topic of the evening was what to do if the forecast turned out to be true. I knew doing their bridal portraits at the
cultural gardens was the perfect backdrop for these two. The sense of history
and the old-world feeling of the gardens, with their weathered stonework and
delicate flowers would compliment them so perfectly. I just smiled and said to not pay any
attention to the weather while secretly hoping that the forecast would
change. This is Cleveland after all.
As luck would have it, it never rained. In fact, it never
even came close. Their whole wedding day
was filled with laughter, smiles, family and friends – the legacy of previous
generations were celebrated as Nicole and John added their own chapter to the
family story all under clear blue skies and an abundance of sunshine.
