Chasing light has been an annual tradition on this blog for
the last five (or maybe it’s six) years now.
I feel as we bid the year goodbye, it’s good to look back and
relive all the little everyday moments that make up our daily life.
It is really easy to loose oneself in the day-to-day routine
– the tasks that need our attention, the errands that need ran, the
never-ending pile of laundry, but life is so much more than that stuff; it’s
coffee with friends, it’s picnics in the summer-time, it’s road trips and
dinner parties; it’s morning snuggles and story time with our daughter.
What I love so much about photography is capturing all those
moments – the moments when most people wouldn’t think to pause, and grab a
camera. When you really stop to think
about it, photography is almost magic. A
moment of time is captured and frozen forever. We can literally look back into
our past and see all the moments that make up our life. That’s pretty freakin’ cool.
I always tell, well everyone honestly, take photos – print photos;
get a camera, and learn to see in the language
of photography.
Capture those little fleeting moments and savor the story of
your own life.
