It felt like I was worlds away, someplace straight out of a
storybook - it felt like a fairytale. The grand stone façade of the Kirtland
Country Club was the perfect backdrop to Kelly and Mike’s wedding day while
inside, a mix of antique furnishings, fireplaces and a grand staircase
completed the scene.
It was a soft grey day with a chill in the air but somehow
that only added to the story. The gentle glow of candlelight, the crackling
flame of the fireplaces and the pastel colors of the bridesmaids’ dresses added
a quiet warmth to all the formality.
Kelly and Mike were this elegant and sweet couple at our
story’s center. I love how gentle they
are together – they have a romantic kind of love; the kind that inspires poets
and writers, and makes us believe in happy endings. But, in spite of all the splendor of the day,
the swirl of family and friends, the beautiful and delicate touches everywhere,
it was Kelly and Mike and their love that made the day truly special. When
you watch them together, there is no doubt that they were meant to be. The way Mike can make Kelly smile and laugh,
how perfectly they fit together like pieces of a puzzle, how passionately they
love each other.
On a cold, grey day in October with chill of late autumn
blanketing the land outside, Kelly and Mike came together at the center of this
amazingly beautiful scene, their family and friends celebrating along with them
as they added a new chapter to their story.
