Our life will be defined by fleeting moments – amazing
little wisps of memory that will forever echo in our hearts and minds. You never know what those moments will be. Some
will be so random that it will be hard to fathom why they made such an
impression. Others will be obvious in
their importance. Regardless, we’ll
remember them; delicate little bits of our life spun into the fabric of our
memory like strands of gossamer in the summer grass.
What I love most about weddings is the pure joy and love
that radiates from two people madly in love – seeing best friends become
husband and wife, their lives impossibly intertwined by love, and bound together
by the open promise of an unwritten future is powerful. And seeing those feelings echoed in the hearts
of their family and friends brings such a smile to my heart.
Jessie and Andy have such an open honesty to them. There is a kindness and wisdom to their love;
it’s familiar and gentle and it’s heartwarming to witness. Seeing them together makes you happy.
One of my favorite photos from their wedding day was a
simple one – together, in the fading light of day, they both looked right into
the camera and it was magic. In that one
frame I saw them – not the bride and groom, not Jessie and Andy, I saw their
love reflected in each other; a quite and assured sense of who they were and
how the feel about each other. It became one of those fleeting moments – the
genuine expression of the heart reflected in their eyes was everything, and
I’ll not soon forget it.
